About

Dave Kavanagh is a UK-based musician specialising in composition for TV, films, games or anywhere else that you may want to hear musical sounds.

Dave has been studying composition from a young age and writes his music using a variety of acoustic and electronic instruments. While his primary instruments are the piano and baritone ukulele (which feature heavily - although not always recognisably - in his music), he also plays a host of other instruments including the Darbuka, Djembe, Guitar, Violin, Cello, Trombone, Trumpet and Salo (Thai bowed instrument) to various degrees.

Having a keen ear for the emotional impacts of musical elements, Dave is able to convey the intended feeling of a piece or film effectively to the audience. His work has been widely praised at Manchester and Hamburg's Kino Kabarets where he has collaborated with some of the city's most talented young directors on the famous film-making challenges that require a film to be made from scratch in only a few days.

Dave also plays at times with several bands including 'The United Kingdom Ukulele Orchestra' with whom he toured Germany and Austria in 2013.

In 2009 Dave attained a 1st Class BSc in Music Composition & Technology and before that a Distinction BTECH in Music Technology. His technical focus on music production means that his recordings are always of a professional quality and he offers a variety of professional studio services including composition, mixing, mastering and arranging.
